New heavy-duty shelves installed

The New Shelves

I know its not terribly exciting to most people, but these new shelves rock! They will hold 1 ton on each shelf, stand 9 feet tall, and have already freed up a lot of floor space in the shop. They are also worth including in the Ampco news blog because they took 2 days to install, and basically shut down all projects for a week. Almost everything in the shop had to be moved, relocated, adjusted, dusted, and replaced in a new location. It wasn't until just last night that I finally got things settled and put away on my workbench. Now that they are in place, and things are getting back to normal, I look forward to some better-late-than-never Christmas projects...

What is Ampco?

The Ampco Workshop

Welcome to Applied Materials Production Company, a Judd and Nick facility, located in NW Indiana. This blog will share our projects as they develop, and hopefully follow their progress until completion. Some of the work we do here at Ampco involves; auto mechanics, metal fabrication, ceramics and ceramic firing processes, cabinetry, fine woodworking, general construction, landscaping, forestry, and any number of other fun things. We generally make stuff out of other stuff or use stuff to make other stuff. We hope you enjoy the blog, and check back often!
